Past Masters…Hardly!

Rod Pilmore and WBro. Keith Stewart, representing Freemasons Victoria and the Freemasons Cycling Club (Vic), saddled up on a cold and wet Sunday (15 April) to ride 50km (including over the Westgate Bridge) in the MS Cycle Melbourne. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic and often debilitating disease which attacks the central nervous system. Every working day four people are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis: this equates to about 1,000 people every year. The average age of diagnosis is between 20 and 40 years of age, although symptoms may begin much earlier. Three out of four people living with multiple sclerosis are women. Keith (Mooroopna 131) may be Past Masters of their respective Lodges but, they are not past committing themselves to a challenge, particularly when a bicycle and a charity event are involved. WBro. Rod said, “From my perspective, it was a pleasure and an honour to ride in memory of my late Sister in Law, Marg, who passed away in 2015 from MS.”  No doubt Marg was watching from above, especially on the Westgate Bridge leg.” Between them, Rod and Keith raised over $1,100 to assist MS sufferers gain access to important support services.
