About The Lodge

Consecrated in November 1949 at 25 Collins Street, Melbourne. All Foundation members were former Prisoners of War who had been imprisoned in Changi Prisoner of War Camp and/or who had been forced to work by the Japanese on the infamous Burma Railway.

The Lodge formerly met at Prahran Masonic Centre until 1995, then moved to Mount Waverley.

Sir Edward “Weary” Dunlop was a member for many years and the Lodge works towards raising money for the Sir Edward Dunlop Medical Research Foundation.

The Lodge has many historical items of memorabilia which it displays in the South at least twice a year.

The Lodge logo is from the Latin motto is “Broken, not dead” and refers to a giant tree in the Malayan jungle that had it's top blown off to prevent the Japanese using it as an artillery marker.
