“Freemasonry means that you can meet a lot of nice people and make many great friends and that it really is possible to make a difference in our community when we work together.”
“Being part of the Freemason’s community has enabled Lorraine to make lasting friendships many of which span decades and Lorraine remembers when her baby came to Lodge 33 years ago!”

Lorraine King is the partner of WBro. Jim King from Jonadab Lodge and together they have been active in Freemasonry since 1983 when Jim completed his third degree.

Lorraine’s influence extends far and wide in our organisation and she very active in Jonadab Lodge particularly in the Ladies’ Auxiliary. Being part of the Freemason’s community has enabled Lorraine to make lasting friendships many of which span decades and Lorraine remembers when her baby came to Lodge 33 years ago!

Currently Lorraine’s focus is around supporting the Treasured Babies project and this brings enormous pride to the members of Jonadab. The Ladies Auxiliary is active and working with Treasured Babies – a branch of Red Nose, to support the families of those babies who didn’t make it into the world. Outcomes of this support include ensuring recognition of these tiny still born babies’ existence and enabling their families to respectfully grieve.

Other projects that Lorraine has been part of includes scholarships to Norwood Secondary College where young students who might not otherwise not be able to pursue their education are supported financially as a consequence of the hard fundraising work of the Lodge.

Many social functions are enjoyed at Jonadab and Lorraine notes that it is actually possible to have a great time without alcohol given that Jonadab is a dry Lodge.

For Lorraine, Freemasonry means that you can meet a lot of nice people and make many great friends and that it really is possible to make a difference in our community when we work together.

Lorraine really enjoys Jim having a such a wonderful interest and one that they share together.
