On Thursday 29 November 2018 at the Student’s Award Presentation night, the immediate Past Master of Hearts of Oak Lodge No. 681, WBro. Ayden Carroll presented Zoe French and Kyle McKinnon each with a scholarship to the value of $1,000. The scholarships are to be administered by the school to assist the two students in completing their VCE. One of the scholarships was provided by Freemasons Foundation. Kyle McKinnon was named outstanding student of the year for his efforts in year 11.

WBro. Ayden Carroll spoke of the value Freemasons place on education, and that it became an empowering tool throughout one’s life. He encouraged the students to strive for excellence not just in their education but in life. While limited for time, WBro. Carroll’s address was masterful.

At least 400 students, teachers and parents were in attendance at the awards night. The evening opened with a beautiful solo by Charlize Abbott-Higgins, followed by flautist Saber Tang, and later a clarinet solo by Jai Szabo. All three of these students performed at a professional level and are to be congratulated.
